What is MathSound?

MathSound is an alphanumeric musical notation system based on the ASCII standard (American Standard Code for Information Interchange). It consists of a plain-text format that allows music to be represented by characters, without the need to use traditional notation.

The system organizes information in blocks delimited by hyphens, where the quantity and distribution of characters visually represent rhythmic duration. Elements such as pitch, octave, intensity, and articulation are integrated into a single line of text.

Being based on standard characters, it can be used on any device with a keyboard, facilitating the writing, editing, and transmission of musical ideas without specialized tools. Its objective is to offer an accessible alternative to traditional music theory, simplifying musical creation and reading through a logic closer to digital writing.

¿Qué es Mathsound?

MathSound es un sistema de notación musical alfanumérico basado en el estándar ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange). Consiste en un formato de texto plano que permite representar música mediante caracteres, sin necesidad de utilizar la partitura tradicional.

El sistema organiza la información en bloques delimitados por guiones, donde la cantidad y distribución de caracteres representan visualmente la duración rítmica. En una sola línea de texto se integran elementos como altura, octava, intensidad y articulación.

Al estar basado en caracteres estándar, puede utilizarse en cualquier dispositivo con teclado, facilitando la escritura, edición y transmisión de ideas musicales sin herramientas especializadas.
